Psalms 1-6

This is the first of a series, I'll be uploading the rest as well. This is done on paper, a six inch by six inch square (all of the pieces in this series have the same dimensions).

The text is worked with a traditional calligraphic pen nib, but the material used is gouache, gesso, or acrylics. Not ink. Also there is the use of Prismacolor(tm) colored pencils for the construction lines, it adds little bursts of color, and changes the mood of the piece, or amplifies depending on the colors chosen.

On this piece I was trying to get a feel for the color field effect, and make something small, and gem-like. It's not entirely succesful, but there are a lot more to go, and I'm getting better at it.
